AGORA has launched AGORA Capital to connect leaders with values-aligned funding while graduating its first fellowship cohort at the Summit 2.0 in Lagos. The initiative marks a strategic shift toward institutional impact and capital mobilization for Christian marketplace leaders.

AGORA has launched AGORA Capital, its third pillar dedicated to connecting leaders and institutions with values-aligned capital and strategic support. The announcement coincided with the graduation of the organisation’s pioneer fellowship cohort during the AGORA Summit 2.0 held in Lagos.
The two-day summit brought together Christian marketplace leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and institution builders. Under the theme, “The Alignment: Positioning Leaders for Systems Impact,” the event focused on transitioning leaders from individual intention to execution and institutional collaboration.
With the addition of AGORA Capital to its existing leadership convening and fellowship programmes, the organisation is building an integrated platform. This structure aims to convene leaders, develop human capital, strengthen institutions, and bridge the gap between innovative ideas and strategic relationships.
Speaking at the summit, the Founder and Convener of AGORA, Prof. Akin Akinpelu, emphasized that alignment is a continuous process rather than a destination. He noted that leaders must constantly evaluate their purpose and the systems they develop to ensure lasting impact.
Alignment is not something we arrive at once and keep. It is a decision leaders have to keep making, in their purpose, in themselves and in the systems they build.
— Prof. Akin Akinpelu, Founder and Convener, AGORA
The summit explored three critical dimensions of alignment: alignment with purpose, alignment within the leader, and alignment across broader systems. Participants were encouraged to translate vision into measurable actions that contribute to national transformation.
The event featured a diverse lineup of keynote speakers, including Mrs. Ibukun Awosika, Founder and CEO of The Chair Centre Group; Mr. Sari El Khalil, Managing Director of Seven Up Bottling Company; and Mr. Kola Oyeneyin, CEO of Opportunik Global Fund. Their presentations addressed leadership, Kingdom influence, and the mechanics of capital mobilisation.
A fireside conversation titled “Faith, Innovation and Systems Change for Marketplace Leaders” featured Mr. Benjamin Udokwu of Faith Driven Entrepreneur and development professional Mrs. Abiodun Owo. Moderated by MO Oladapo, the session examined how values-driven innovation can contribute to meaningful changes in the marketplace.
A significant milestone of the summit was the formal graduation and commissioning of the pioneer cohort of the AGORA Fellowship. These fellows were inducted into the AGORA Alumni Community, a network designed to sustain long-term learning and professional collaboration among participants.
The summit concluded on September 6 with a session led by Mr. Dave Food and Mr. Sola Osinoiki. They charged the newly commissioned leaders to integrate faith, excellence, and stewardship into their business engagements, reinforcing the necessity of practical marketplace impact.
Through its three pillars—AGORA, the Fellowship, and AGORA Capital—the organisation is now positioned to support leaders beyond traditional convening. By creating connections to strategic support and capital, AGORA seeks to scale the impact of institutions and individuals dedicated to systemic growth.
