An FCT High Court has ordered Jordan Ezenwo Nyesom-Wike to produce his American passport to verify his whereabouts during an alleged $2.1 million land facilitation deal. The order follows claims by a private firm that cash was delivered to the Minister's son for land acquisitions in Katampe and Guzape.

The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Maitama has ordered Jordan Ezenwo Nyesom-Wike, son of the FCT Minister, to produce his American passport as trial resumed in a $2.1 million land transaction lawsuit. Justice Sylvanus Oriji issued the directive on Tuesday following an application by Hamza Dantani, counsel to the claimants in the suit marked CV/008/2026.
The order was prompted by Jordan’s defense regarding his whereabouts on September 26, 2025, the date the claimants allege the multi-million dollar payment occurred. Jordan told the court that he was outside Nigeria at the time and had traveled using his American passport. When asked if he could present the document to the court, he confirmed he could, leading to the formal judicial order.
The legal action was instituted by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited. The claimants allege that they developed a relationship with Jordan in London before seeking his assistance in Abuja to acquire 30 hectares of land in Katampe and another 30 hectares in Guzape.
According to the claimants’ account, Jordan demanded a $2.1 million facilitation fee. They allege that $2 million of the sum was intended for his father, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, while $100,000 was his personal fee. The claimants further asserted that the money was delivered in cash on September 26, 2025, in the presence of several witnesses, including Adamu Sani, Aliyu Sarki, and Sai Wani.
Jordan, represented by a legal team led by Ogwu Onoja, SAN, has denied all allegations and maintained that he has no knowledge of the transaction. During his testimony, he adopted his statement on oath and challenged the narrative provided by Safwan Garba GY and his company. The claimants allege that after receiving the funds, Jordan failed to facilitate the land acquisition and subsequently became unreachable.
The production of the American passport is expected to serve as critical evidence regarding Jordan's location during the period of the alleged transaction. Justice Oriji has adjourned the matter until Wednesday for the continuation of the trial. The court noted that the current order does not determine the merits of the suit, as the allegations remain contested by the defendant.
