FCT police officers rescued a 12-year-old girl from alleged sexual abuse after investigating a suspicious vehicle at the Airport Bridge Taxi Park in Abuja. The intervention led to the arrest of a suspect and revealed a pattern of abuse that resulted in the child's pregnancy.

During a routine patrol at the Airport Bridge Taxi Park in Abuja, officers of the FCT Police Command noticed a navy blue Volkswagen vehicle with fully tinted windows. Although the car was parked quietly, unusual movements caught the attention of the patrol team, prompting an immediate investigation.
Upon opening the vehicle, officers discovered a 12-year-old girl allegedly being sexually abused by a man identified as Zazzayanu Halilu. The suspect was apprehended at the scene while the child was rescued. The FCT Police Command spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, noted that the decision to investigate the unusual movement led to the discovery.
However, the vehicle was shaking.

Preliminary investigations by the police suggest that the incident was not an isolated event. Authorities allege that the suspect had lured the minor to the same location on multiple occasions, using the vehicle as a site for the abuse. The police report indicates that the girl had been trapped in a cycle of silence due to fear.
The victim had reportedly been kept from speaking out through direct intimidation. According to the police account, the suspect threatened the girl to ensure she did not report the ordeal to anyone, leaving her vulnerable to continued exploitation away from the eyes of passers-by.
The suspect had threatened to 'deal with her' if she told anyone what was happening.

The gravity of the case intensified following a medical examination of the victim. Police confirmed that the 12-year-old is approximately three months pregnant as a result of the repeated abuse. This revelation has added a painful dimension to the case, necessitating specialized medical and psychological support for the child.
Currently, the girl is receiving medical care and undergoing further assessment under the supervision of the command. Meanwhile, Zazzayanu Halilu remains in police custody. The command stated that the suspect will be charged to court once the investigation is concluded, emphasizing the importance of adult vigilance in protecting children who may be unable to speak out due to trauma or threats.
