Editorial ethics
We separate reporting from opinion, verify material claims, identify conflicts, and correct the public record when we get something wrong.
Our journalists seek response from people and institutions named in significant allegations. We label sponsored work clearly and do not allow advertisers to control editorial decisions.
We may use AI tools to suggest headlines, excerpts, summaries, tags, or claims for journalists to check. AI suggestions are advisory: an editor reviews and chooses whether to use them, and AI does not publish or replace reporting. AI-flagged claims have not been fact-checked.
Corrections are published on the affected story. See corrections or learn about the newsroom.
